2. You must get a makiwara and use it for drills. Makiwara training is critical to moving your punches to the next level. Training with other targets have their advantages too, but using bare knuckles against a makiwara, as you would in a real-life fight, is the best way to condition yourself to that kind of contact.
3. Train using suspended boards. Have a partner hold a board with just two fingers. You will use a combination of speed and power to break it. If you go too slow, the board will just fly out of the persons hand. If you don't punch hard enough, the board won't break. This is an excellent drill for boosting your speed as well.
4. Punch the heavy bag. You can do heavy bad drills from a ready stance, whichever you prefer. Make sure the bag is not moving. Punch it with one fist, picturing yourself punching all the way through the bag. Try to see how much you can make the bag move with a single punch (and without just pushing the bag).
